Balanced Stance
Lower Half
Find a stance that allows you to control the direction of your body, intent of your swing, and timing of the pitch. To control the direction of your body forward you need to first control your negative move into your back hip. The back hip can only be controlled by setting early flexion in your back knee and by creating coil in your backside glute. This allows you to put maximum force into the ground, allows your head to not move as much, and begins the sequenced chain of events that will make up your swing.
Upper Half
Begin with your hands in a position that will easily and repeatedly find their way to a coiled launch position on a consistent basis. Create some early forward tilt with your shoulders to help your body move naturally into position to be behind the baseball at point of contact.
Simply…
Coil into your back hip without your front shoulders diving forward. Be in control of your body.
RDL Swings
Slowly work off the chair to create natural posture, good flexion in your back knee and control of your back hip
Slowly work into an RDL type movement before your swing to feel the flexion in your back knee and overall balance.
